Girls Night out (1982)

Girls Night Out has all the makings of a great slasher film with an iconic character design but falls a little short. It feels like the director wanted to make a classic horror with some violent death scenes and some great nudity but doesn't deliver on either of them.

The story starts out simple enough with an escaped killer on the loose and college kids doing college things (Sex, Drugs, and general debauchery) and they even paint a good red herring fairly early on in the film. Unfortunately, with the big reveal - and I say that with a modicum of irony, there is no pomp or circumstance and the whole film feels like a waste of time. Such a shame for such an interesting premise.
